Polar Bears Swim Team (Summer)

Registrations are now open for the Pittsfield Family YMCA’s Polar Bears Swim Team. Through spirited competition, participants will learn how to reach their potential in this water sport for children ages 6-18 years old. Practices and competitions focus on skills development, teamwork and confidence building. Practice is scheduled according to age and ability with certified and experienced swim coaches. All swim team participants MUST have a membership. Swim team dates: May 20-July 27. We also offer a Winter Swim Team!

Tryouts
Existing Polar Bears swimmers do not need to try out. However, swimmers who have not swam for the Polar Bears previously must do a tryout – scheduled with Coach Tim Grace at tim.grace.coach@gmail.com.

Divisions and cost
Cubs (guideline: ages 6-9): Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, 5-6 p.m., $150
Juniors (guideline: ages 9-13): Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, Fridays, 6:30-8 p.m., $225
Seniors (guideline: ages 14-18): Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, Fridays, 6-8 p.m., $275
*Program must be paid in full at signup OR 50% on signup & 50% on June 30, 2013 for Juniors and Seniors.

Sibling discounts
A one-time 10% discount is available for the youngest sibling.

Membership is required:
Youth memberships (up through 13 years old): $36/year at signup.
Teen memberships (14-18 years old): $49.98/3 months at signup or $15/month by automatic payments.

Additional Information
Tryouts are required for all swimmers new to Polar Bears program and to be arranged directly with the Coach by emailing him at tim.grace.coach@gmail.com. Please note that if a swimmer has been on the team in the past, no tryout is necessary.

Practice sessions are subject to CHANGE depending on enrollment. Please read all related emails. Important information will be posted on the observation deck bulletin board. Check weekly.
