The YMCA studios provides affordable, supportive housing for low-income adults. This housing program also provides services and structure for adults who may experience challenges of a disability. An on-site Residence Director provides an array of specialty support services to residents. The YMCA studios provide 44 permanent supportive rental units including three modified handicap units available to eligible adults. Residents of the program are encouraged to apply for YMCA memberships and are awarded need-based scholarships to assist them with membership fees. Residents are also encouraged to participate in monthly tenant meetings to discuss any issues regarding the program and to establish group norms and self-governance. The YMCA will strive to provide a supportive housing model that serves the needs for the community and sets an example for collaboration in addressing the complex social issues related to affordable housing and homelessness.
